Sylvia Dubois was born a slave on Sourland Mountain, NJ, in the late 1700s. She lived to be over 100 years old and was happy to tell you about it. Sylvia’s Moxie takes you on her bare-knuckled, no-nonsense journey from a powerless slave to a formidable free woman. In Sylvia’s words, “I was able to turn just about every negative into an advantage”.
